Chrome 27 - Llega la búsqueda por voz
Google ha comenzado a distribuir una actualización de la versión de escritorio de su navegador Chrome. Chrome 27 para Windows, Mac y Linux que incluye el Google Voice Search.
En la keynote del Google I/O Johanna Wright, una de las ponentes, mostró cómo sería el control de los navegadores en un futuro. Pues ese tiempo ya ha llegado y la nueva utilidad de control de voz comienza a ser distribuida.
Gracias a ella podremos usar el control de voz de Google Now en nuestro navegadorChrome, es decir, hablar directamente a Google.
La actualización corresponde con la versión 27.0.1453.93 de Chrome. En la que además del Google Voice Search se han introducido otras mejoras. Los tiempos de carga de los resultados, por ejemplo, se acortan en un 5 por ciento.

Google ha activado esta mañana las búsquedas por voz directamente desde el navegador. Esta nueva característica, que fue presentada durante la conferencia Google I/O la semana pasada, está disponible en la nueva versión de Chrome para Mac, Windows y Linux.
Entrando en la versión inglesa de Google nos encontramos con un pequeño micrófono en el extremo derecho de la caja de búsquedas. Haciendo click en él Chrome nos pedirá permiso para acceder a nuestro micrófono y a partir de entonces podremos realizar búsquedas utilizando nuestra voz y sin necesidad de teclear.

A week after it was announced at Google I/O 2013, Google’s conversational search is now operational in the latest version of Chrome. With Chrome 27, you can click the microphone icon in the search box on Google.com, opening a dedicated search page that listens for your commands. We have tested the feature and results are returned quickly with accuracy.
The new update adds the ability to understand and link queries using Google’s Knowledge Graph, relating successive searches to the same subject. For example, if you ask “How old is Sergey Brin?,” you can follow that up with “Who is he married to?” and Google’s contextual search algorithms intelligently relate that to your original question. While voice search has been available in Chrome for a while now, Google Search will soon offer the option to say “OK Google,” prompting Chrome

La nueva Xbox será ‘más potente con el tiempo’
New Xbox will get ‘more powerful with time’.
Microsoft have explained how the Xbox One will use streaming technology to allow the console to deliver better graphics by leveraging servers in the cloud.
The company says it has 300,000 cloud connected servers available for the One, which will be able to be used to render background objects and landscapes, streaming them to the user and allowing the consoles computation power to be used solely for rendering better game characters. That number compares to only 15,000 servers for the Xbox 360.
“There are a growing number of transistors in the cloud that you can move the loads onto,” said the company’s director of development Boyd Multerer.
“So over time, your box gets more powerful. We move loads into the cloud to free up resources on the box.”

Display three columns. Most Web browsers will display the new multicolumn stream as two columns. However, you can actually go up to three columns by widening your browser’s screen, as long as you have a display that supports a width of greater than 1,550 pixels.
Switch to single-column layout. If you’re not a fan of the multicolumn layout, you can switch to single-column. Just click on the More menu at the top of your stream, then select single column to force a single-column layout, regardless of your browser’s width.
